A Little Love, a Lot of Fresh Ingredients, and One Very Opinionated Poodle!
We never planned on starting a dog food business. We just wanted our dog to eat better.
And, like many great adventures, this one began with a very spoiled Standard Poodle named Leo!
When Leo was just a puppy, we wanted to give him the best of everything — especially when it came to food. We tried all kinds of dog food toppers, hoping to make his everyday meals a little more exciting.
But something kept bothering us.
Some of those toppers could sit on a shelf for months without even needing refrigeration. And while we understood that different preservation methods can keep food safe, we couldn't help wondering: What exactly is in these packages, and why does this food last so long?
We started paying closer attention to ingredient lists, asking questions, and thinking about what we really wanted to put in Leo's bowl.
The answer was surprisingly simple.
Real meat. Fresh vegetables. Recognizable ingredients. No unnecessary artificial preservatives or additives.
We weren't looking for food that could sit in a pantry forever. We wanted something freshly prepared, something we could recognize, and something we'd feel good about serving to our four-legged family member.
And if that meant keeping it refrigerated for just a few days instead of leaving it on a shelf for months? We were perfectly happy with that!
Of course, there was one little problem.
Fresh food doesn't last forever. And honestly, that's okay with us!
That's when we found our perfect solution: prepare fresh food in batches, divide it into convenient portions, freeze them, and simply take out what we need when we need it.
A little planning, a little freezer space, and a whole lot of happy tail wags!
But we also understood something every dog parent knows all too well: feeding our beloved furry family members can get expensive!
We didn't want to replace Leo's entire diet with costly fresh meals. We wanted to make the food he already enjoyed a little more special.
And that's where the idea for The Culinary Paw really came together.
Think of kibble as the main course and our toppers as the delicious finishing touch!
A complete and balanced kibble provides the foundation of your dog's diet, while a little freshly prepared topper adds extra flavor, texture, and excitement.
No need to turn every dinner into an expensive gourmet production — although Leo would probably argue otherwise!

Because our dogs may not care about ingredient labels, recipes, or cooking methods.
But we do.

Every great kitchen needs a food critic. Ours happens to have four paws, a fancy haircut, and absolutely no respect for personal space when food is involved.

Leo takes his responsibilities very seriously. His specialties include supervising meal preparation, inspecting every interesting smell, and reminding us that dinner is always at least five minutes late.
While he may not be much help with the dishes, he's certainly helped inspire our mission: making everyday meals a little more special for the dogs we love.
His salary? Belly rubs, long walks, and the occasional delicious taste test.
